Garbage & Recycling

The City of Winfield contracts with Wemiga Waste Inc. for solid waste collection and Des Moines County Regional Solid Waste Commission for recycling collection. Everyone within the city limits is required to have garbage collection and all residential customers within the city limits is offered recycling collection at no additional cost.

The weekly garbage pickup day is Wednesday, containers must be at the curb by 8 AM.  Each residents can have 5 bags or containers, weighing no more than 30 pounds each. Containers may not exceed 34 gallon capacity. 

If you have more than 5 bags you may purchase extra tags at City Hall.

All trash/furniture needs to be out by 8am on Wednesdays with tags on!

Recycling will be collected every other Wednesday.  Must be at the curb by 8 AM and sorted in or accompanied with a GREEN recycling bin.  Recycling bins are available at City Hall for $8 each.
